Red Flags When Shopping for Wedding Venues | The One Where We Talk Podcast

Once you have set a date for your wedding, one of the most difficult and time consuming parts of planning your special day is selecting wedding vendors and venues. You will need to research and vet multiple options for venues and consider things like food, drinks, photography and videography, music, flowers, and potentially many more depending on what your ideal wedding day will look like.

There are alot of different questions that you should also be considering when going through the process of finding your ideal wedding venue. Some of the things you should think about are obvious, what is the best location, what is my ideal setting and so on. Other points to think about could be less obvious though. For example, is the venue I’m looking at a local family business, how many years have they been around, and what kind of support and service can I expect on my wedding day from them. All of these thoughts and questions play into making sure you know what to look out for when it comes to red flags when shopping for wedding venues.

It can be incredibly stressful and confusing when trying to find all these different types of wedding venues and vendors and then making sure they can provide the quality experience and the right value for you as the wedding couple. In this episode of The One Where We Talk Podcast, the Wedding Pirates (Luke and Libby) talk through their experience with a variety of different wedding vendors and some of the red flags to look out for when you are making decisions for your special wedding day.

Here are a few topics that are covered in this podcast episode which is also available on Spotify:

  • How to sift through wedding venue reviews to make the best possible decision

  • What vendors are you able to use at a venue? Some venues only allow specific vendors

  • With the wedding industry being so hot right now, how long has a venue been around?

  • What are the venue's best business practices? Do they treat their customers well?
