Wedding Reviews:

Lucas and Elizabeth are amazing in every way. They are truly professional every step of the wedding process and their finished product is absolutely gorgeous. On my wedding day, they made me feel totally comfortable, beautiful, and authentic, and it shows in their finished work. I didn’t worry at all throughout the whole day because they were prompt, ready, and respectful at every moment, especially in our church. Lucas and Libby are true artists and will not disappoint. Watching our highlights is surreal because it captures the essence of our day in such a way that makes us feel like we can relive the fleeting moment every time we watch it. We not only have memories that will last, but a true piece of art that amazes everyone who watches and will definitely stand the test of time. This is all because Luke and Libby genuinely care about their couples and their art. I can’t thank them enough for capturing our day.

WOW! Luke and Liz were absolutely wonderful to work with. They have a profound knowledge of how to make the day extra special, the product they delivered was beyond anything we could’ve imagined. They hyped us up on the day, and captured our love so perfectly. They listen to what the couples ultimate vision is, and build art around them. We would STRONGLY and WHOLEHEARTEDLY recommend them to anyone and everyone. Their work speaks for itself, plus Luke and Liz are wonderful humans to work with. A++++++. There aren’t enough stars for The Wedding Pirates.

The story begins as we were looking for a photographer for our wedding. My then-fiance and I spent hours on the phone with many vendors who we just didn’t seem to “click” with. I found Luke and Libby and told my fiance that we had one more interview- with the wedding pirates. He rolled his eyes and said that I could do that one on my own- sounded like some weird marketing gimmick (although he did acknowledge that their pictures were beautiful). The following day I was on the phone with Luke who gave me some of the best advice I received while wedding planning. He told me that your photographer and videographers are really the one vendor that is by your side throughout the big day and that you have contact with long after the wedding. He also let me know that they are close friends with many of their couples and stay in touch for years after the wedding. Flash forward almost a year. I can confidently say that hiring Luke and Libby for our spring Catskills wedding was one of the very best decisions we made throughout the entire wedding planning process (and can proudly say that my husband agrees!!) Over many calls, they learned about some of the specific Jewish traditions and rituals we would be participating in during the day and were willing to shoot the entire day (well over 10 hours). They met us in NYC for a special engagement shoot where they worked tirelessly to get perfect shots (crossing fifth avenue, on the steps of the met, etc.). During the wedding day, they handled the chaos confidently and professionally and were by our side laughing with us the whole time. They do all of their own editing which is phenomenal and got us our sneak peak very promptly. I cannot recommend them enough - you will be very lucky if you get to work with them to capture your wedding day.

Working with the wedding pirates was the honestly one of the best experiences. We had already booked a photographer before finding them but we booked them for videography and it was the best decision. First of all, they take the time to get to know you as individuals and as a couple leading up the wedding. Then on the the day of the wedding they were super amazing about being your advocate and capturing all the important memories. But I think the best work they do is after the wedding day - the things that we don’t see as the bride and groom. They put together the most amazing sneak-peaks to build the anticipation and then the final video is amazing!! They put together an amazing story about the couple that is unique compared to other wedding videos. They add personality and spunk in ways that only they can. They are creative and well thought-out. You can tell they are really passionate about what they do and take the time to make something amazing. I recommend booking them immediately for your upcoming wedding!

Who are these Wedding Vendors?

The husband/wife wedding crew is a common tale; however, Lucas and Elisabeth have developed a genuine love for weddings dating back to their childhoods as individuals. Lucas grew up in the wedding industry carrying supplies for his mother who was a wedding coordinator and eventually photographers and videographers since he was 9. Elisabeth grew up not only dreaming of her own wedding, but everyones wedding; however, observing was not enough. Elisabeth grew her passion for photography through high school when eventually she met Lucas who was no longer in the wedding industry. Elisabeth helped Lucas rekindle his love for weddings and together they embarked on an adventure to capture something beautiful.

MEET THE CREW

Elisabeth or Libby

Enjoys vegan Mac and cheese and long walks to the grocery store to get ramen. She also enjoys thrift shopping, dancing, anything outdoors, and her favorite part of a wedding is the portrait session which occurs right after the ceremony.

“They’re just so giddy and happy to be married. It’s a beautiful moment to take photos.”

-Elisabeth

Stella or Stellarose

Stella is a grey tabby rescue who LOVES playing fetch with bottle tabs, eating spinach, arguing with dad, and prefers mom. She also enjoys the occasional walk with mom outdoors and watching Lion King.

Lucas or Vandergriff

Lucas enjoys making crazy videos and filming all of the adventures that make up his families life. He loves his cats, black coffee, and Black Cavendish. His favorite part of a wedding is the wedding dress and veil.

The dress is what makes the shots AMAZING. Without the woman in the wedding dress it’s just a guy in a collared shirt.

-Lucas

ANDI SAGE OR MUFFIN

Andi is the wild one in the crew. She loves racing herself from one end of the room to the other, lounging on dad’s shoulders, and watching us edit until she falls asleep in our lap. She also loves teasing her sister and playing tag.
